THERAPEUTIC PHILOSOPHY
Techniques for a Balanced Mind
Mindfulness Breathwork, Movement, and Neuroscience
Neuroscience, or the study of the brain, has shown through
research that our mind is constantly changing through the
process of neuroplasticity. Years of research demonstrate that
mindfulness practices such as meditation, movement therapies
and breathwork increases the ability of the mind to develop
new neural pathways to create transformation and emotional
balance.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the process of becoming present. These
practices bring attention to our experience in the present
moment without judgment. This can occur at an organic level
in our brains. Through slowing down our thoughts and
developing focus, we can achieve a joyful, calm, and centered
approach in life.
Components which foster mental health:
-
Awareness: a “meta-awareness,” or watching our own thought processes
-
Connection: to self and others
-
Insight into ourselves and the ability to change our narrative to how we see ourselves (our thoughts),
-
Purpose
